Back in May the little girl (8 years old) I have custody of wanted to attend horse riding, I booked one lesson as wasn’t sure if her disabilities would stop her from doing this. She has FASD ( Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder), short term memory loss, blind in left eye, hyper mobility and anxiety. Fast forward a few months and she is like a different child, Growth Equestrian is her safe space she absolutely loves it. She has never done any kind of after school club or an activity without myself or a family member being present but the ladies at Growth Equestrian are fantastic with her, she is never judged and can be her unique self. During the holidays she has been stopping for full days on her own which I never thought would happen. Most days I wake up to her asking ‘how many days till horse riding’. The horses she has being having lessons with over the past few months are so gentle with her, they are special in our hearts.
